I’ve known Melissa since we were in grade school. First page in our Senior Year High School yearbook is of Melissa, our mutual frined Erica, and myself with our pinhole cameras from photo class.
My first time in Charleston, I ate like a king, made a bunch of photos, and also captured Melissa and Brian’s wedding day. It was a small shindig with family, close friends. apple pie moonshine, everyone pitching in, and the sweetest send off with words from her sister Jessie. I felt honored to be there.
Side note: If you are in Charleston, go to Leons Oyster Shack, get the fried chicken, fried oysters, black eyed pea salad, and au gratin potatoes…Banquet on draft.
I met Melissa years ago when she was a waitress at Andre’s Restaurant. She knew I was a wedding photographer and one day in conversation I told her when she gets married, I hope I capture the images. Well I did. Check out the happy couple below. Also, we are prectically neighbors now too.
Brianna + Paul have been married almost a year already. Sorry y’all, Instgram has taken over. These two had a gorgeous winter day traveling from Newton to The Manor in West Orange. The reception got pretty um, well, hands…? You’ll see. Shout out to Julian on the second shooting.
There comes a risk with winter weddings but it is also a reward… snowstorms. Enter me…”Sooooo, do you want to go outside?” its a yes, game on!
It really was a great day for photos. pretty freaking cold, but just gorgeous. I can’t thank Danielle + Jon enough for having me photograph their wedding. From the laughs, to the sketchy bus ride, and packed dance floors, it was one to remember. Shout to Julian for second shooting with me (extra dry) and to Stephanie because she’s the best.
I’ve known Tiffany for a very long time and adore her and her sisters Heather + Lauren. Surrounded by their nieces and nephews, family and friends, Tiffany + Mario said “I do” at the SC Court House on a Monday afternoon. It was my last wedding of 2016 and was a perfect ending.
Aimee + Matt had some inclement weather the night before and morning of their wedding. That lead me to leave the night before and get a room at Skytop Lodge. The next day was completely perfect. I think Aimee’s smile throughout the day is a testament to that though. Both the bride and the groom had their brothers by their side, which just sealed how close these families are to each other. Also, what are the odds that it was two families of flyfisherman that hire me? Pretty sweet.
Carryne + Bob were going to read their vows to each other after their first look. A little private moment for the two of them. As soon as they saw each other the tears started flowing and both of them just starting blurting them out as they held onto each other. It was awesome.
I know it appears that Jackie laughed and smiled the whole time at her wedding. It’s because she did. I have a ton to say about this wedding but I’ll keep it short with bullet points:
- amazing parents
- ILFORD disposable cameras
- great sing-a-longs
- ISO 6400
- NY Botanical Gardens are beautiful
- if you see ONLY say something
Thanks to Micah and Jackie for trusting me to capture their incredible day. It was a blast.
Honestly, I would post more photos from the reception but it got pretty wild. Very wild really…but anyway…
I’ve know Stacy since she would come over to play with my younger sister. Small stint at the local photo store together and we’ve remained friends throughout the years. When I walked in to her parents house I noticed photos I had taken of her years ago still in frames. It was really sweet to watch her laugh throughout her wedding day and see the love that Jon has for her. They’re an awesome couple with great friends who know how to have a good time. A good time I’m not going to show you…
It was hot. Hottest day in September? Maybe… However, this couple was cool. Sorry for the dad joke. Anyway, when I photographed Justine + Eric’s engagement photos I got a glimpse of how much fun their day was going to be.
He brought a trophy he won in a fantasy football league with his friends…and Justine wnet along with it.
Fast forward to invading a taco festival, getting in a wrestling ring with luchadore’s, a bounce house, and a crowd that was there to party. For real. Thanks to Kelly for second shooting this day with me and thanks to the bucket of cool drinks at the end of the aisle, where during the ceremony I melted ice cubes on my head.
